Commissions
Iona specialises in unique custom made jewellery and bespoke silverware. Whether it is a piece of jewellery to mark a special occasion, a silver box to be passed down as an heirloom, or simply to treat yourself, bringing your vision to life we can work closely together to create a valuable piece.
The journey of an idea into a finished piece is a personal and rewarding experience for both the client and the maker and Iona endeavours to meet your expectations.
The commissioning process often begins with a creative conversation, guiding you through some ideas to consider as well as a discussion on budget and timescales. Designs and sample work are undertaken and with the clients consent the final piece is then brought to life.
Iona likes to keep the commissioner involved throughout the whole process so that in no way do they feel detached, and ensure that we are both pleased with the finished result. Please don't hesitate to get in touch to discuss any ideas that you may have.
Following the initial discussion, a 50% deposit is required for all commissions in order for the making process to start, with the rest to be paid before receiving the finished piece.
Should you decide not to follow the commission through to completion, the deposit is non-refundable as it will be used to cover the costs of time and materials spent on the project up to that point.
Sizing for jewellery
Please ensure you know the correct ring size when placing your order. If you do not know your size, the most accurate way is visiting a local jeweller or jewellery shop as they will have a ring measurer. If this is not possible, you can email me with your postage address and request a plastic ring gauge in which you can measure your own size with at a small fee of £2. Alternately, you can buy a disposable 'ring sizer UK' for a couple of pounds from websites such as Amazon. If you are buying a ring as a gift for someone else and you don't want them to know, borrow a ring they wear and get it measured. When placing an order for a ring, it is the responsibility of the customer to order the correct size. You want the ring to fit over your knuckle comfortably but not too easily, so that is will not come off your finger when your hands are wet or your body temperature changes.
I have listed a variety of sizes for the bracelets on sale in my shop, if you require a different size please email me and I will adjust the size free of charge. If you are purchasing a pendant and want a specific length of chain then do let me know at the time of your order.
